What a Gas!

Well this P.I.R.A.T.E. can whole-heartedly report on the finest Gasworks Gallery event thus far.  Positive Individuals abounded (along with a few cavorting canine companions) as we enjoyed an evening of wine, music, art, and friends extraordinaire to prove, once again, that giving is too cool.

It was the most lively and empowering gathering of guests I have witnessed in almost two years of attending.  In addition to supporting Northwest Harvest, and celebrating the 50th birthday of one our honorary “Caring Beings” and Fab Sax Man, Nathaniel Paul, I was wowed by a seemingly never-ending array of fascinating movers and shakers from the Seattle area.

Adding to the high-octane crowd was the truly moving and vibrant art of Matt Jones, the dynamic art of Penny Laine, and other artists who opened their studios to us throughout the evening.  And Nicole, Lisa, Ruvane, John, Erik, Paul, and Adam (and the girl I hooked heels with) - it was a great pleasure meeting you.  You’re the bright lights of our world and you made the evening shine.

A huge thanks to all who contribute to the First Friday parties at Gasworks Gallery.  David Sterling, Jan George, Steve Regener, and more.  You know who you are, and you Rock.  And of course, the biggest thanks to Matt Jones for opening his doors and treating us all to an evening of smiles.

For those of you who missed October’s party, get ready for November 3rd - the two year anniversary of the first Gasworks Gallery First Friday Party.  With nearly a half million pounds of potatoes and other non-perishable food items donated in conjunction the gallery so far,  I  have to agree with Mick.  When it comes to giving, “It’s a gas, gas, gas!
